USN Yangtze Service Medal issued to Vernon W. Briggs for service on the USS Tulsa in 1932. Briggs had prior service in China as a corpsman attached to the 3rd Brigade USMC at Tientsin and with the 4th Marines at Shanghai from 1927 to 1930. Service on the Tulsa was from 1930 to 1932.
Briggs' other medals included the Good Conduct with several bars, WWI Victory without bar, American Defense, American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific and WWII Victory. Location of these medals is unknown.

In pristine condition and very desirable to a corpsman who served with both the China Marines and aboard a Yangtze gunboat.
