United States Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal issued to William Shields Forsyth, who was born in Methil (Fifeshire), Scotland in 1888. Following his USMC service, Forsyth joined the Canadian Garrison Artillery in 1916. While serving in the C.G.A., Forsyth was twice wounded in action and was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for valor during the 100 Days Offensive in 1918. W.S. Forsyth died in Ontario, Canada in 1958.
